Ole Chief can't stand to hear the JD isn't the Holy Grail to everyone. Think about their run of bad transmissions and the many unhappy owners I have read about on the forums.Even JD has problems just like the rest.

I found a 3130 at Goss tractor in Jasper Ga. They are very nice, external lift cylinders were one feature I noticed plus they changed the steering components. It seems to handle well. But with all new models are they bugproofed. Also has a neat computerized information panel.

What a bunch of Bull from a salesman. For 4 YEARS I mulled over each brand. Each has good points and bad points. There is no perfect tractor that fits the bill for all people.

I own a L4310GST and like it. For extensive loader or grading use the HST is a better choice. For plowing , I think GST is better. When using the loader, many people tend to "ride" the clutch which shortens it's life considerably. It is a tossup I suppose but I like what I got.

In reference to the absence of sulfur: according to Mobil the sulfur is not the lubricant, but the de-sulferizing process changes the fuels lubrication properties. They claim to add back lubricants to their diesel. Do I believe them, naw, I add some anyway.

gws, YOU missed my point. Some people care what the job looks like. The more finished it looks the more time it takes. If you can find some poor fool to wear his equipment out for nothing, and not value his time, I feel for him. Peope who only want the weeds knocked down and don't care about how the jobs look should find someone as you have. Hope he wakes up!

bo i saw another post from you and really understand your ideas. But just because you dont respect you equ. and have had some luck doesnt mean the rest of of are so lucky or callous. Just because you havent obviouly harmed the equ. doenst mean you have helped it. Although you do have a point about going overboard on things. I admit to that one.; Also my statement about the "whining" was wrong sorry for that one too. I guess some issues and this is one just gets me going. Bottom line is use what you want when you want. I am comfortable with how i handle maintenance as you others are. Although in the long run i spend more than i have to, i feel in the long run it will be worth it. all my other equ. i s still running after most of my friens has worn out long ago some i must be doing something right. Sorry if i ruffled too many feathers.

I have done a lot of research into this matter and have been involved with this equ. for years also. On the web page for Mobil they are quick to advise on their synthetic oils that equ. in dirty environments should not even with the best oil use extended drain intervals. There is a tech support number for them on the web site. they are most helpful. Also as in the case with Kubota they now require a 100 hour oil change, i think that is down from another higher figure but oddly enough they only recommend changing the oil filter every other oil change. Go figure that one if you can. But seriously extended oil changes are primarily for over the road diesels that dont idle much. 2 facts here are important. Over the road diesels dont run in dirty conditions and 2 if they dont idle much the oil is not as contaminated because diesels are very inefficient at idle. That is also spelled out if one digs deep enough in different web pages for oil manufacturers. Whew i hope i have helped a little. I sincerely do not wish to sound like a know-it-all. I'm sure that is the way it sounds. I just hate to hear of someone doing something i feel is injurious when published items indicate a better way.

why would anyone want to cross an inexpensive but vital item like an oil filter. also if anyone has seen the info on oil filters that were sectioned and tested youwould see that fram has one of the worst and cheapest made filters on the market. dont scrimp on one of the most important items on your tractor. it is like your kidneys how well would you operate on ones that are third rate. <br>just my 2 cents<br>Good Luck<br>

to clear up one issue the Kubota uses indirect injection and they dont smoke. the bottom line is something wasnt right with that <br>tractor. all the compacts are great but noone makes all perfect machines. the dealer is suspect, honest??<br>also to the one with the superior tc18, i doubt it is any better than the others. i bought a Kubota but dont have the mistake that<br>everyone else has inferior equipment. just be careful what you buy, dont be color blind. i havent found any off the shelf fluid that meets the SUPER udt specs. some list the meedt udt specs but the super is new<br>enough that seems noone claims to meet those specs.; be your own judge, but better to be safe than sorry<br>greg

the long drain interval isnt an option when you have a tractor due to dusty environs and<br>the loading up of the oil with conataminants. i use mobil 1 but i think anyone that goes 25k <br>before removing all that dirty oil is leaning too heavily on the side of false economy. just a view not <br>facts

the manual for my new 4310gst states that 50hr oil, filter, transmission oil <br>and filter changes are mandatory! after that it is 400 hours on trans. and <br>100 on engine.<br>

after checking the manual on my new kubota 4310gst i found that anyone interested can indeed use mobil 1 10w30 in these tractors. it calls for rating of cc ,cd. mobil 1 has an api rating of cf. due to the short change intervals <br>of machines used in dirty environments the cf-4 and ch-4 ratings are not needed.<br>they indicate an oils ability to keep large amounts of soot suspended instead<br>of settling out in the engine. the new environment friendly engines load up the oil with soot more than old engines. hope this is of interest to someone.

just took delivery of new L4310 GST. what should the proper tire pressure be.<br>it is 4wd and front pressure was 30 and back 25 with no flid in tires. help please!

i forgot to let you know the price in north georgia. on the bare 4310 GST <br>with ag tires the best price i could find was 17,600.00.
